My name is Elizabeth. I am a 20-something copy editor and writer working in Southern California. I recently got engaged and am just starting the exciting and strenuous process of buying a home and planning a wedding with my fiancé. We have been scrimping and saving for several months now and are hoping to accomplish both our goals (especially the wedding) as economically as possible. My intention for this blog is to use it as a means to document our financial and emotional choices as we try to budget both projects in this extremely dismal economy. Hopefully, my fiancé and I will come out of this rather ambitious endeavor triumphant. But, whatever the outcome, I hope that by sharing our successes and missteps we might help (and get ideas from) other young couples on a similar journey.
